Veronice “Dee” Martin, affectionately known as Tweedie Dee to her loved ones because of her fondness for Tweety Bird, passed away on September 16, 2024, at the Clinton Therapy Center. Her services are being arranged by Lee Hometown Funeral Home.

Dee was born in Antlers, Oklahoma, to Noah D. Martin and Wanda Lou (Dale) Hamilton. She was raised in Yanush, Oklahoma, and graduated from Clayton High School in 1980.

She married Carl Joseph Martin on June 23, 1993, in Yanush, Oklahoma. Dee was a registered CNA and worked as a healthcare worker and cook at several facilities, including Talihina Manor, Beare Manor, Latimer Nursing Home, and Bama Pies.

In later years, Dee moved to Clinton to be closer to her mother, who was also residing at the Clinton Therapy Center.

Dee was a well-known jokester who enjoyed cooking, cleaning, music, singing, playing cards, darts, pool, dominoes, camping, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her father Noah D. Martin, her husband Karl Joseph Martin, her sister Lawanda Kay Wisler, her brother Benny Lee Wisler, and her grandson Dustin Powell.

She is survived by her sons Charles Earls and his girlfriend Marissa Marris of Durant, Oklahoma; LeeRoy Earls of Kentucky; Larry Alsdurf and his wife Danyell of Chelsea, Oklahoma; her mother Wanda Lou Hamilton of Clinton; her daughter Gloria Collum and her husband Jessie of Atoka, Oklahoma; her stepdaughter Kimberly Dawn Martin and her husband Carl Delk of Cordell, Oklahoma; her stepson Aaron Barnes and his girlfriend Yutana Cothran of Haileyville, Oklahoma; 21 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
