Ramus Hicks Sr. Obituary
Ramus Hicks Sr., age 74, of Clinton, Oklahoma, was born on January 14, 1950, to Warren and Sucelia (Littlehead) Hicks in Clinton, OK. He passed away peacefully on October 2, 2024, at his home, surrounded by family and friends.
Ramus was raised in Watonga and Custer City, where he graduated from Custer City High School in 1968. After graduation, he returned to Watonga, dedicating 18 years to Hollytex Spinning Mills. He later moved to Oklahoma City for several years before returning to Clinton, where he married the love of his life, Bernice, on September 10, 1990. Together, they served in ministry at the Abundant Life Church, where Ramus remained actively involved up until his passing. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he inspired many with his unwavering dedication to God and his community.
A man of God, Ramus exemplified the teachings of Christ through his kindness, compassion, and service to others. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people, always offering a listening ear and words of encouragement. His life was a testament to the power of faith, and he devoted himself to uplifting those around him, fostering a spirit of love and unity within his church and community.
In his youth, Ramus enjoyed playing football, and later found great joy in fast-pitch softball, pitching for the Watonga Braves across the state. He was also an avid fisherman, cherishing the time spent on the water with family and friends, where he often shared stories and laughter.
Ramus was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Sucelia Hicks; his son, his wife Bernice, Ramus Walker Hicks Jr.; his brothers, George Hicks Sr. and Angelo Pedro; his sisters, Margaret Hicks, Minnie Parks, and Eugenia Harding; his aunt and uncle, Jesse and Ann Louise Fishinghawk Sr.; and his aunts, Ida Mae Littlehead and Geraldine Littlehead Querdebitty.
He is survived by his sisters, Jewell Hicks-Ellis of Weatherford and Debbie Hart of California; his brother, Dwight Harding, and his wife, Vida Blackwolf, of El Reno; as well as special elders, Carol Whiteskunk and Norma Fisher.
Ramus will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of faith, love, and community service will continue to inspire those he touched throughout his life.
