**Margarita “Maggie” Perez Roque, 42, of Clinton, Oklahoma**
Margarita "Maggie" Perez Roque, age 42, a lifelong resident of Clinton, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, in Clinton. Born on May 22, 1982, to Victor and Esther (Perez) Mendez Jr., Maggie’s life was deeply rooted in her community, and her pride in Clinton ran deep. She often told her family, “Once a Clinton Red Tornado, always a Clinton Red Tornado,” and graduated from Clinton High School in 2001.
On July 15, 2014, Maggie married the love of her life, Andrew Roque, in Clinton. A devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, she cherished the opportunity to raise her children at home. Maggie’s faith was a guiding light in her life; she was an active member of Christ Our Hope Church and regularly contributed her creativity to church events, often crafting decorations and gifts for special occasions, including diaper cakes for baby showers.
Maggie’s family meant everything to her. She loved spending time outdoors with them, especially on camping trips, and her positive spirit and constant smile brightened the lives of everyone she met. Known as “Sunshine” to her uncle, she was a source of warmth, joy, and encouragement to her family and friends. She loved Jesus deeply and lived her life with a joyful heart.
She was preceded in death by her Older brother, David Mendez who passed as a baby.
Maggie is survived by her loving parents, Victor and Esther Mendez of Clinton; her beloved husband, Andrew, of the home; her sons, Andrew Roque Jr. of Hobbs, NM, Elijah Roque of Clinton, David DeLeon of Hobbs, NM, Gabriel Roque of Clinton, and Dominic DeLeon of Hobbs, NM; her daughters, Alexandria Roque of Hobbs, NM, Adrianna DeLeon of Hobbs, NM, and Alyssondra Roque of Hobbs, NM; her sisters, Alice Mendez Cifuentes and husband Andres of Clinton, Marianita Mendez of Fort Worth, TX, and Olivia Giron of Oklahoma City; and her brothers, Vic Mendez III and wife Shanna of Clinton, and Joesanto Mendez and wife April of Corn, OK.
A funeral service will be held for Maggie at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2024, at Templo Maranatha Church in Clinton, officiated by Pastor Willie Florez. Arrangements are under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Clinton Cemetery.
Maggie will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and her joyful spirit will be forever remembered.
It was Maggie's request, that nobody wears black to her funeral, she wants it to be a happy occasion, her family and friends will be wearing pink in her honor. Family asks that anyone who wants to participate, to please do so.
