Kaylan Whittley Naranjo June 25, 1999 – April 4, 2025
Kaylan Whittley Naranjo “Mogie” (Little Women) was born on June 25, 1999, in Clinton, Oklahoma to Kevin Wayne Naranjo I, and Nizhoni (Fletcher-Slinkey) Naranjo. She passed away at her home in Clinton on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the age of 25.
Kaylan was a lifelong resident of Clinton and a proud graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 2017. During her school years, she was very active and well-known among her peers. She played golf, basketball, and tennis, and was also a spirited cheerleader. Her outgoing personality and vibrant smile left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She was a member of the Indian Pentecostal/Baptist Church and had a deep connection to her faith and cultural traditions. Kaylan participated in Sun Dance Ceremonies and loved to dance cloth. She enjoyed music, laughing with her cousins—whom she considered siblings—and loved to “clown” anyone willing or not, always bringing joy to those around her. She had a selfless and protective spirit, always putting others before herself.
Kaylan worked in several places throughout the Clinton area including Lucky Star Casino, Montana Mike’s Steakhouse. Of all her roles, the one she cherished most was being a devoted mother to her children. Her love for them was evident in every part of her life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kevin Wayne Naranjo I; her maternal grandparents, Patricia Fletcher and Richard Slinkey Jr.; maternal great-grandparents, Sam and Angeline Fletcher; paternal great-grandmother, Bernice Bull; paternal grandfather, Vearl Fulsom; and her aunt, Emerald Fulsom-Ellis.
Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Nizhoni Naranjo of the family home; her beloved children, Isaiah Gresham, twins Ezra and Elias Naranjo, and Natalie Gresham, all of Clinton; her sisters, Kenzie Naranjo, Jessica Slinkey and her daughters Danielle, Nizhayla, and Harlee French, all of Clinton; her brothers, Kevin Naranjo and wife Diana of El Reno and their daughters Jailene and Evelyn Naranjo, and Adrian Reynolds of the family home; her paternal grandmother, Velva Fulsom of Clinton; great grandpa Ervin Bull of Clinton and a host of aunties, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends who loved her dearly.
A traditional all-night wake will be held at the ERC Building beginning at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 10, 2025, also at the ERC Building, officiated by Gerald Panana. Burial will follow at Clinton City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
Kaylan’s beautiful spirit, vibrant energy, and unwavering love for her family and culture will be remembered and cherished forever.
