Gracie Mae Walker, age 72, of Clinton, Oklahoma, passed away at Great Plains Hospital Elk in Elk City on June 21, 2024.

Gracie was born November 25, 1951, in Vinita, Oklahoma, a daughter of Cecil and Marie (Miller) Kirkendoll. Gracie was raised in Vinita, Oklahoma, and Clinton, Oklahoma. and had been employed as a cook at several Clinton restaurants in Clinton including Trade Winds, and Cherokee, where she was well known for her pies, biscuits, her hot bread, and especially her unique personality.

 

Gracie was an active member of the Bethany Baptist Church, in Clinton.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Marie Kirkendoll, stepfather Creamer Hardrick, her companion, and the love of her life Leroy Crawford, her grandson Tre’Veous Robinson, and her brothers John Kirkendoll, Cecil Joe Kirkendoll, Clyde Hardrick, her sister Flora Crawford, and her first husband Roland Walker Sr., and her niece Toni Washington

 

She is survived by her daughter Kristina Walker of Lawton, her sons Kevin Kirkendoll of Tennessee, Roland Walker Jr., and his wife Sara of Bonner Springs, Kansas, James Kirkendoll of Clinton, and Bryan Kirkendoll and his wife Haile of Kansas City, Missouri, her sisters Doris Grimes of Fredrick, Oklahoma, Ruth Perry and husband Toby of Fredrick, Oklahoma, Nancy Ann Johnson of Evansville, Indiana, her brothers Jesse Kirkendoll and his wife Vickie of Clinton, James Kirkendoll and his wife Knikki of Claremore, Oklahoma, Lawrence Kirkendoll of Oklahoma City, Anthony Hardrick and his wife Marsha of Wichita Kansas, Garnett Hardrick of Oklahoma City, several grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

 

Funeral Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Drummond officiating. Burial will follow at Clinton Cemetery, all under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
