A cremation and funeral service to celebrate the life of Gary A. Westrick, age 33, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church in Clinton. The service will be led by Rev. Temple Diehl and Pastor Don Lacy. There will be no burial service, as the ceremony will conclude at the church.
A family wake will be held on Friday, July 26th, from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
Gary Andrew Westrick was born on February 2, 1991, in Clinton to Francis Andrew Westrick and Mary Ruth Waldo. Tragically, Gary passed away in Oklahoma City on Sunday, July 21, 2024.
Raised in Clinton, Gary distinguished himself as a top student and an exceptional athlete at Clinton High School, where he excelled in track and was honored with the Bill Gates Millennium Scholarship. After high school, he pursued higher education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and later transferred to the University of Central Oklahoma, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in Human Resources. Gary’s professional journey led him to Trizetto Provider Solutions, and he was on the brink of a new opportunity with Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Gary married Jennifer Edgar in June 2017 in Nebraska. His passions included playing pool, fishing, camping, frisbee golf, video games, running, traveling, and bowling. His love for learning never waned, and he was contemplating returning to school for his master’s degree.
Gary is survived by his parents, Francis Westrick and Mary Ruth Waldo of Clinton, and his ex-wife Jennifer Westrick of Nebraska. He is also survived by his sisters Roxanne (David Vick) of Albuquerque, NM, and Melinda (Barry Funk) of Germany; his brothers Todd Westrick of Albuquerque, NM, and Alex Westrick (Jeanette Bauer-Westrick) of Rio Rancho, NM., and Quinton Westrick of Clinton.
Gary will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, his love for life, and his unwavering dedication to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
