Donald Joseph "Donnie" Kindsfather, age 76, of Clinton, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at the River Valley Nursing Home. Donnie was born on August 22, 1948, in Sayre, Oklahoma, to Roy Lee and Frances Ada (Hess) Kindsfather.
Raised in the Delhi area, Donnie attended Delhi Grade School before graduating from Erick High School in 1966. He continued his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in 1969. On June 29, 1974, he married the love of his life, Glenda Waggoner, in Oklahoma City.
Donnie was deeply involved in the Randolph-Sheppard Vending Program and was an active member of the National Federation of the Blind. He was also a devoted member of the Clinton First Baptist Church. Alongside his wife, he owned and operated Uniforms Etc. in Clinton.
Donnie had a passion for woodworking, listening to audiobooks, and traveling. He loved dancing with Glenda, horseback riding, roller skating in his younger years, and cheering on the Red Tornado and OSU football teams. Above all, he had a deep and abiding love for Jesus. Despite being blind, he never let anything hold him back from achieving his dreams and living life to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Ricky Kindsfather, and his sisters-in-law Judy Kindsfather and Donna Kindsfather.
Donnie is survived by his loving wife, Glenda Kindsfather of the home; his daughter, Diniece Fletcher and her husband Terry of Clinton; and his daughter-in-law, Amber Nanney and her husband Thomas of Weatherford. He also leaves behind two brothers, Dwane Kindsfather of Arnold, Missouri, and James Kindsfather of Sayre; five grandchildren, Zachary Fletcher and his wife Trista, Lauren Margerum, Joseph Kindsfather, Duane Fletcher, and William Kindsfather; a great-granddaughter, Ruth Leigh Fletcher; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Clinton, with Rev. Kent Jaggers officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Delhi Cemetery.
Donnie will be remembered for his kind spirit, his dedication to his family, and his love for his community. He was a devoted friend and cherished family member whose presence brought joy to those around him.
The family appreciates the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
