Connie Ann Gass was born May 16, 1946 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Jessie Fern (Payne) Higgins and Elmo Robert Higgins. She passed peacefully at her home on August 30, 2024.
Connie grew up in Butler, Oklahoma and moved to Hammon during her high school years. She graduated from Hammon High School in 1964, and continued to make Hammon her home until her death.
She was married in June of 1964, and to this union three children were born. She was also blessed with two additional sons. Connie was a lifetime member of the first Baptist Church of Hammon where she also raised her family.
Connie‘s greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. She loved attending all of their activities and cheering them on in all of their sporting events. She was also blessed with many great friends, and enjoyed their early morning ride-arounds, playing cards and girls’ trips.
She was proceeded in death by her mother, Fern, and stepfather Delbert Kauk. Her father, Elmo, and stepmom Clois Higgins. Her brother Jackie Higgins, and nephew Dr. Darin Higgins.
She is survived by daughter, Kelli Leverett and husband Mike of Hammon, Oklahoma, daughter, Debbie Spikes, and husband, Keith of Elk City, Oklahoma, son, John Paul Gass and wife, Jessica of Clinton, Oklahoma, son, Mike Higgins, and wife Brooke of Hammon, Oklahoma, son, Jimmy Higgins, and wife Michelle of Hammon, Oklahoma. Grandchildren, Jacob Leverett, Jaxon and Tessa Spikes, Loren and Luke Coleman, Brig Gass, Tripp, Reece and Kru Higgins, and Jackie, Tyson and Hunter Higgins. Brother Gary Higgins and wife Deborah of Hammon, Oklahoma, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
